Author: Marco Parra

Marco Parra is a graphic novel illustrator from Mexico City. His projects get inspiration from the social transformation that is currently happening in a country like Mexico. He has been part of independent graphic collectives such as "La puntita" magazine (2018). He has been awarded a grant by the "National Fund for Culture and the Arts" (Government institution) to make his comic book series "Pax Mexicana" (2020). He has also published (in collaboration with Andalusia K. Sollof and Anahí H. Galavíz) under the editorial firm Penguin Random House the graphic novel "Vivos se los llevaron: Buscando a los 43 de Ayotzinapa" (2019); project that addresses the forced disappearance in 2014 of 43 students in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero. Starting 2020, Marco has collaborated with the british magazine Index on Censorship and the journalist K. Soloff, denouncing the unpunished murders of hundreds of Mexican journalists.
