Author: Deshan Tennekoon

Deshan (he/him) is a writer, book designer and photographer. He wrote a children’s non-fiction book, Mary Anning’s Grewsome Beasts (Penguin, 2021. Illus. Linki Brand) and co-wrote an MG graphic novel called Podi (forthcoming, Oni Press). Meta Helmet (illus. Isuri Dayaratne) shared an Eisner and an Ignatz award in the ‘Elements: Fire’ anthology (Beyond Press, 2017/18). He wrote 17 books for Think Equal’s global SEL curriculum and occasionally writes for grown-ups: Traditional Culture and Aesthetics of Sri Lanka for the Encyclopaedia of South Asian Design (forthcoming, Bloomsbury Publishing). He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Berkeley in 2009. www.onlinedesho.com
