Andalusia K Soloff more commonly known as @andalalucha is a multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Mexico City. Andalalucha is the author of the graphic novel Taken Alive (Vivos se los llevaron), about the 43 disappeared Ayotzinapa students published by Penguin Random House in 2019. Her work has appeared in Al Jazeera, VICE News, Democracy Now!, BBC, The Intercept, Teen Vogue, and Latino USA. Her reporting focuses on human resilience and dignity in the face of disappearances, state violence, land struggles and gender-based murders in Latin America. For years Andalalucha has documented the impact of the heroin trade on rural farmers in Mexico and was awarded the Intercept/Double Exposure/ Screening Group Investigative Film Grant and the Fund for Investigative Journalism and New Narratives on Drugs( FINND) for this work. When she’s not reporting, she keeps busy as a DJ, printmaker, and long distance cyclist.
